New Burial Ground on CD

Following the rediscovery in 2007 of the 1859-1965 Burial Book for St John’s parish church Kirkheaton together with the ‘New Ground’ grave plot plan, a project to transcribe the contents into spreadsheet format was undertaken. This has culminated in an Excel workbook which contains all 8000+ records from the book together with the full New Ground grid onto which known memorial placements have been made. Together with a set of known grave inscriptions, this provides a very useful tool for all who wish to research these topics.

In return for the CD containing these resources, we are asking subscribers to donate £25 (preferably via gift aid) to the parish to be used on future projects to improve the state of the churchyard. In return, subscribers will also be entitled to free updates sent out via e-mail as they become available.
